Team

  • Dr. Mirko Seithe: Developer & Designer

I am an indie game developer living in Sankt Augustin, Germany. I have a professional background in computer science and made a Dr. in economics. For the last ~10 years I've been developing indie games in my free time until going full-time indie in 2020.
I have grown up playing and loving complex strategy and simulation games like Civilization, Battle Isle, The Settlers and Transport Tycoon. More recently I have enjoyed hundreds of hours of Factorio, Gnomoria, Prison Architect and Into the Breach.

  • Lisa Besse: Graphics artist

I’m a game artist living in Cologne, Germany and am originally from France. I have completed my Bachelor of Arts at the Cologne Game Lab. I’ve grown up playing games like Zelda and Pokémon. Nowadays I mostly play indie games, especially point and clicks and puzzle games. Games that have really inspired me are Samorost, Dream machine, Don’t Starve, Stardew Valley, Superliminal, Antichamber and Return of the Obra Dinn to name a few. When I’m not playing games I also spend a lot of time in nature which is a great source of inspiration.

History

BossConstructor, Dr. Mirko Seithe's first published title was launched on the 24th of October 2016 with a positive reception after two years in Early Access. Following BossConstructor's success, Kubifaktorium was announced on the 28th of July 2018 at the GameDevs.nrw meetup. A Kickstarter campaign was launched to fund the game on August the 7th and successfully ended on September the 6th, earning over 160% of the original campaign goal. Kubifaktorium has launched in Steam Early Access on the 3rd of July 2019 and is receiving continuous updates.

Features

Build, manage and grow a thriving colony and discover new lands in Kubifaktorium. The game features different biomes to explore, plenty of resources to exploit, complex machinery to build and interesting production chains to master.

The heart of your colony consists of loyal colonists who will mine resources, farm crops and craft tools and weapons. Each colonist has a different set of skills which will change based of the jobs he or she performs. Managing your colonists' needs and abilities is vital to ensuring your colony's efficiency.

In the course of the campaign you explore and colonize multiple islands and encounter different biomes. Each biome features new challenges but also new resources to discover and process.

While your colonists are awesome, their work power is limited. Fortunately, your colonists know how to craft advanced machinery like automated farms, smelters and more, which you can use to automate more and more of your production.

As your colony grows and your production hums along, transporting the resources you need becomes a bottleneck. Kubifaktorium features a number of transportation systems like trains, conveyor belts, zeppelins and more. Automated depots and inserters are there to help you store, sort and keep track of all your goods.

The game is designed to be mod friendly and allows players to create anything from new goods and industries to total conversions with new terrains, scenery and stories. Created mods can be published and managed via the Steam Workshop.
